Jaime Messina Week 8 Percent of Silent Night by R.L. Stine
February 12th, 2015,
In the book Silent Night by R.L Stine, I am currently reading this book and only on about page 20-25 or so. But so far the them is not really much, it's just STILL explaining the main character, Reva. I am guessing so far that the theme is about her and how she is a mean, selfish girl. When her mother was still alive, four years ago, she a sweet 13 year old girl. She was very close with her cousin Pam who is a little older then her. But everything changed when her mom died.. She started to break the house rules, and not care about anyone she knew, like her friends and family and even strangers! She had a boyfriend for about four months and then she relized that she didn't need him because she had "better" things to do, like watching T.V. and being a mean bully. She still had some friends, she acted mp nice to them even though she was taking advantage of them. Her close cousin Pam, turned into her cousin who she hated, even though Pam was a really nice and innocent girl. She would always help Reva with her problems and always called, but then she finally found out that when her mom died, she started taking advantage of her. She tried to hold in her feelings about Reva, and yet she did. But in the inside she absolutely hated her. She was so mean to Pam. So mean. Pam thought she was jellous that she had a mother and Reva didn't. But she tried hard not to think that. She was still nice and friendly to Reva, even though Reva always lied to her and rolled her eyes at her and was ALWAYS sarcastic. So that's why I think the theme in the book so far is how Reva is a selfish and sassy.

Week 7 Reading - Broken Hearts by R.L. Stine
February 5th 2015
In my book 'Broken Hearts' by R.L. Stine, I feel like the theme is DONT go out on Valentines Day. (Spoiler alert!!) One event from the book, is when Josie starts to get threatening valentines saying death poems on them. Another event from the book, was when on Valentines Day (WARNING, SPOILER) Josie dies from getting stabbed in the back. Lastly, a year later Josie's old friend started getting the same kind of valentines as Josie did.... That is why I think the theme is don't go out on Valentines Day!

Week5 Reading "The New Boy" by R.L. Stine
January 21 2015
A theme for the book The New Boy by R.L. Stine is everybody thinks Ross is murdering people after his date with a girl who died Minutes after their date. One reason is after Ross' date, the girl was found laying on the ground lifelessly in front of Ross' house. Another reason is everybody at Ross' school thinks that he killed her and another girl from Shadyside High. Lastly, the girl who was murdered, her best friend was told by her other friend that Ross killed her... These events show that the message the author wants to get across is trying to scare the reader, he wants the reader to be afraid (maybe).

Homework Week 3 P.M.
In my book, "FEAR STREET | The New Boy", by R•L• STINE, so far what I read is when Janie and her friends were raising money for their school, it was the school money, they turned it in and the school was very proud until Janie's friend told her she lost it, Janie freaked out and told everybody but it turns her friend was "Just Kidding" but then the next day it really did go missing, Janie thought it was her friend who took it again to mess around but it wasn't, somebody else stole it. That's the conflict, for now.

In the novel "The Fault In Our Stars", by John Green, Hazel is a person who has cancer. First, when she was 13 she got lung cancer. Then, she is 16 right now and met a boy who also has really bad cancer but not lung cancer. Last, they are dating and fighting cancer together. These event shows how if you try hard enough and work together, then you can get it done, or in this case if you try hard enough you can live longer.
